Oceania Cruises Offers Extended Vacations to “Snowbirds”

oceania rivieraOceania Cruises has introduced a new vacation concept for “snowbirds,” residents of northern climes looking to escape to a tropical destination. 

Starting January 3, 2017, Oceania guests can enjoy a tropical vacation for 58 or 72 days onboard an Oceania ship as part of the line’s new “Snowbirds in Residence” program. Oceania staff will see to guests’ meals, housekeeping, laundry and keeping guests’ refrigerators stocked with snacks. 

“Snowbirds in Residence” is offered on two departures, and guests will enjoy a variety of amenities and added-value extras. Veranda Stateroom fares start at $15,999 per guest for Marina’s 58-day voyage departing January 22 and $19,999 per guest for Riviera’s 72-day voyage departing January 3. Free economy or low-cost first class airfare starts from $499 per guest. Guests can also enjoy free pre-paid gratuities, a value of up to $1,656 per guest, and a choice of up to $4,200 shipboard credit, up to 42 free shore excursions or a free beverage package. 

Highlights of Riviera’s 72-day January 3, 2017, departure include a tour of Gustavia, St. Barths, with a chance to enjoy the destination’s beaches, snorkel or dive, take a ride in a semi-submersible submarine vessel, go shopping for jewelry and local art and sample local Creole dishes. In Bridgetown, Barbados, guests can explore the island’s rugged coast and Great Houses, cane fields, gardens and beaches, as well as take a snorkeling expedition. 

On Marina’s 58-day January 22, 2017, departure, guests will visit Harvest Caye, Belize, which is home to a range of environments such as tropical rainforests, marshes and coral reefs, as well as George Town, Grand Cayman, where there will be an opportunity to swim and snorkel with stingrays.
