Pandaw Announces New 2015 Ganges and Hooghly River Cruise

Pandaw cruisePandaw River Expeditions has announced a new 16-night “The Holy Ganges and The Holy Hooghly Rivers” expedition, in partnership with RV Rajmahal, that will depart on October 27, 2015. The itinerary will explore various sites in the region, including:

-A three-night land program featuring a visit to the holy Dasswamed Ghat steps at sunset for the Varanasi Ganga Aarti spiritual ceremony
-Travel along the Ganges aboard the RV Rajmahal (a 22-suite yacht-like ship boasting a 2:1 crew to passenger ratio), beginning at Sujata Kuti, with stops at Sikh temples and Buddhist monasteries along the way
-Visits to the bridge at Mokameh and the Rajmahal Hills
-Daily excursions to the Katra Mosque, Nashipara, and Katgola Palaces as part of the Hooghly River portion of the journey
-Trips to Bengal’s terracotta temples and the Shiva temple via rickshaw
-Sightseeing in Kolkata

-Pre- and post-expedition extensions are also available in Kolkata and Delhi (including a day trip to the Taj Mahal)

Guests who book a cruise by January 31, 2015, will be offered rates beginning at $5,100 (a 15 percent discount) per person, based on double occupancy in an upper deck stateroom. 

The price covers a two-night stay at the Taj Gateway Hotel, Varanasi, a one-night stay at Hotel Royal Residency in Bodh Goya and a 13-night full board cruise from Patna to Kolkata. Airport transfers, excursions, crew gratuities and on-board lectures are also included.
