Paul Gauguin Cruises Unveils Artist Renderings of Tere Moana

Paul Gauguin Cruises unveiled artist renderings of its new luxury ship, the 90-guest m/v Tere Moana, which launches on Dec. 29, 2012, for its inaugural sailing.

To achieve The Moana's new design, a multi-million-dollar, multi-faced renovation will take place starting in November, with The Moana receiving new furniture, upholstery, art, lighting, wall coverings, carpeting, ceiling finishes, window treatments, paint schemes, flooring, and floor coverings for staterooms and public spaces.

Eight of The Moana’s 45 staterooms will offer private balconies. All staterooms will feature an ocean view; a queen-size bed, convertible to twin-bed configurations, with fine linens, feather-down duvets, robes, and cotton slippers; a flatscreen TV; a DVD/CD player; an in-stateroom refrigerator replenished daily with soft drinks, beer, bottled water and a bathroom.

The Moana will offer two dining venues and will incorporate regional cuisine of destinations visited featuring ingredients from local markets. L’Etoile will showcase culinary creations by Jean-Pierre Vigato, Chef Propriétaire of the two-star Michelin-rated Apicius restaurant in Paris. La Veranda will feature breakfast and lunch dishes with indoor and outdoor dining and will be transformed into a gourmet, reservation-only dining venue nightly.

Aboard The Moana, evenings will feature live piano music and lectures in Le Salon. La Boutique will showcase apparel, sundries, souvenirs and jewelry. The Deep Nature Spa by Algotherm will offer signature spa treatments and a fitness center will also be available, equipped with the latest cardio and weightlifting equipment.

In select ports, the ship’s watersports marina will offer kayaking and paddleboarding.

In December and March, The Moana will sail seven-night Caribbean voyages from St. Martin, visiting a mix of islands in the French West Indies, British Virgin Islands and St. Kitts & Nevis. In January and February, 13- and 14-night Panama Canal cruises feature a transit of the canal and an itinerary that includes Cartagena, Columbia and the wildlife reserves of Costa Rica. From April through November, The Moana operates a variety of European voyages. During spring and fall, 14-night transatlantic crossings are offered between Europe and the Caribbean.

Paul Gauguin Cruises is extending savings of 50 percent off standard cruise fares on The Moana. Past guests of The Gauguin enjoy additional savings of 5 percent off cruise fares, as a member of the Paul Gauguin Society. And, guests who book select departures by Sept. 1, 2012, can enjoy double the Paul Gauguin Society benefit, for a total savings of 10 percent off final cruise fares.
