Renowned Chef Opens Gourmet Restaurant Aboard Cruise Europa

Award winning German chef, Dieter Mueller, has opened an eponymous gourmet restaurant onboard the Europa, and will be personally preparing the cuisine 70 days a year.

While docked in a Hamburg shipyard, the former Euro-Asian Oriental Restaurant was thorougly renovated and transformed into the 26-room Restaurant Dieter Mueller where Mueller himself will work along side MS Europa's head chef, former Wohlfahrt-student Stefan Wilke, who will also continue to run the other three restaurants onboard.

Mueller will be whipping up a combination of classic dishes and new culinary creations combining French, Asian and Mediterranean influences as well as the flavors of his hometown of Baden on the east bank of the Rhine River in Germany.

In addition to running his own gourmet restaurant at the Castle Hotel in Bergisch, Gladbach for 16 years, Mueller has also been honored with five-star Diamond Award by The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences three Michelin stars from the Michelin Guide, and 19.5 points out of a possible 20 points from the Gault-Millau.

Dieter Mueller will be onboard the international cruise from Darwin, Australia to Sydney, Australia, making stops in Papua New Guinea, from January 28-February 17, 2011.
