River Cruise News: Uniworld and Century Cruises Partner for 2013

Century Cruises and Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection announced a partnership beginning in 2013. Under the contract with Century, all of Uniworld's 2013 and 2014 Yangtze River cruise programs will include accommodations and amenities in Uniworld's own branded section onbard the new Century Paragon and Century Legend. Uniworld guests will stay in Uniworld Signature Suites.

American Cruise Lines announced its Culinary Cruise Collection, offering cuisine of specific regions including Alaska, New England, the Chesapeake Bay, the Mississippi River and the Pacific Northwest. Regional cruises include a seven-night Alaskan King Crab Cruise from Juneau, the Lobster Festival Cruise from Maine, a Crabfest Cruise itinerary in the Chesapeake Bay, a Culinary & Wine Themed Cruise that visits wineries in Oregon and Washington and the Savories of the South Cruise that traverses the Mississippi River.

Outside of river cruising, Royal Caribbean International’s Grandeur of the Seas completed its $48-million revitalization. The revitalization included the addition of five new dining venues, technological upgrades, a pool side LED screen, a refresh of all furniture, carpet, upholstery and staterooms as well as new entertainment offerings including aerial entertainment in its six deck Centrum. In addition, the ship received a new Diamond Lounge for Crown & Anchor Society loyalty guests, a Concierge Lounge for suite guests and top-tier loyalty guests, a Royal Babies and Tots Nursery, as well as a transformed Viking Crown Lounge that features a new design.
