Royal Caribbean Adjusts Schedules for IsaacAugust 27, 2012 By: Susan Young
In a Sunday update, Royal Caribbean International (www.cruisingpower.com) said it's closely monitoring the path and progress of Tropical Storm Isaac to ensure guest and crew safety and to assure its ships steer clear of the storm.
The U.S. Coast Guard closed the Port of Miami, Port Everglades and Port of Palm Beach during the storm. So some ships had to remain longer at sea. That has delayed embarkation and the start of some cruises.
The line has adjusted schedules or departure times for some Florida-based ships.
Allure of the Seas
Home ported at Port Everglades, FL, Allure of the Seas’ next sailing will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 28, rather than its planned departure (originally scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 26).
The line asks guests scheduled so sail on that Aug. 26 cruise to not arrive at the port until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28; check-in and boarding will be between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The line said the delayed departure will impact the ship's itinerary. Allure of the Seas will now spend Wednesday, Aug. 29, at sea, call at Cozumel, Mexico, on Thursday, Aug. 30, spend Friday, Aug. 31, at sea, and call at Nassau, The Bahamas, on Saturday, Sept. 1.
The line asks any guests who believe they won't be able to arrive on Tuesday for boarding to call 888-829-4050.
