Scenic Cruises to Extend 'Space Ship' Services to France

Scenic Cruises' "Space-Ships" will be extending their services to France with the deployment of the Scenic Emerald for new itineraries, beginning April 2013, on the Rhone and Saône rivers in the South of France. Guests will not only visit ports, but also experience cultural excursion ranging from a home-cooked traditional meal in a local French home to a visit to a farm in La Camargue and a guided tour of the Palais des Papes in Avignon.

Scenic Tours is guaranteeing Early-Bird offers if booked by May 31, 2012. Should Scenic Tours change the offer upon release of its regular brochure, guests who booked during the early-bird period will be given the offer with the highest value. Other benefits of early-booking include best choice of cabins and departure dates, a $50 per person on board credit and any regular brochure specials and upgrades pertaining to a specific itinerary. All specials are subject to availability and some do come with additional conditions.

The ‘Space-Ship’ boast 20 percent more space than the average river cruise ship, and two full decks of exclusive private balcony suites that are 24 percent larger than average river cruise cabins. The all-inclusive itineraries also feature a selection of five-star amenities, including private butler service in Junior and Royal Suites, an English speaking staff and informed tour leaders to accompany guests on excursion options.

The Scenic Emerald will play host to a number of nine- to 23-day river cruises exploring France and its waterways. The 11- and 14-day “Paris to Nice & France” itineraries combine time in Paris with a nine-day cruise from Chalon-sur-Saône to Arles; a 14-day "South of France" sailing adds four days and additional ports to the similar 10-day itinerary; and a 15-day Rhine and Rhône cruise combines two rivers with cities such as Amsterdam, Basel, Lyon, and Avignon.

For those seeking a longer cruise experience, the 23-day “Normandy, Loire Valley & France River Cruise” combines the 10-day cruise with two nights in the Loire Valley and time to explore in Paris, Rouen and Normandy Beach.
