Star Clippers Highlights New Itineraries, Maiden Calls in its Europe 2014 Brochure

Star Clippers released its Europe 2014 brochure highlighting its summer season in the Mediterranean, Spain and North Africa, Greek Isles and Turkey and trans-Atlantic crossings. In addition to the itineraries for tall ships Royal Clipper, Star Clipper and Star Flyer, the 76-page brochure is filled with photos, itinerary maps, port descriptions and pre- and post-cruise land tour options. A digital brochure can be viewed here

Each itinerary includes a summer trans-Atlantic air credit and highlights Advanced Purchase Discounts up to 50 percent off the brochure rate for Europe, Grand Voyages and the trans-Atlantic crossings. Guests who book by Sept. 30, 2013, also will be eligible for an Early Booking Bonus and receive a complimentary one-category cabin upgrade (categories three to six) and onboard credit of $50 per guest (maximum of $100 per cabin).

New for the 2014 season, Star Flyer returns to the Mediterranean with new itineraries from Cannes, France and Monte Carlo, Monaco. Fans of Formula One racing can take advantage of two special seven-night departures in May that take guests to the Monaco Grand Prix, as well as other calls along the French Riviera and the island of Corsica. The ship continues to sail from Monte Carlo and Cannes throughout the season with calls throughout the Balearic Islands, France, Spain and Corsica.

In October and April, Star Flyer offers a five- and seven-night cruise between Lisbon, Portugal, and Malaga, Spain; North Africa and the Canary Islands, enabling guests to visit historic sites like Seville and Granada, Spain.

Royal Clipper, the 227-passenger flagship of the fleet, returns to the region for another season of western Mediterranean itineraries. The ship sails seven-night roundtrip Venice, Italy, cruises that visit ports in Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia. The ship also sails seven-, 10- and 11-night cruises to Italy, Portugal, Morocco, Spain, France and Greece. Shorter three-, four- and five-night itineraries roundtrip from Venice and Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy, and Malaga are ideal for travelers with less time or who might already be in Europe and want a mini vacation.

The 170-passenger Star Clipper returns to Greece and Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean on its popular seven-night itineraries that explore these two countries. On longer 10- and 11-night sailings between Venice and Athens, Greece, Star Clipper calls at ports in Croatia and Montenegro.

Star Clipper also sails around Spain, Italy, the Balearics, Portugal and the coast of North Africa in spring and fall on two nine- and 10-night sailings. Guests will visit the picturesque Canary Islands on a seven-day sailing from Malaga to Las Palmas.

Guests looking for a longer cruise vacation can embark on 11 Grand Voyages ranging from 12 to 18 nights. The extended itineraries aboard all three ships offer a more in-depth exploration of some of the most beautiful areas in the eastern and western Mediterranean and North Africa.

For those who truly love the sailing experience while also visiting exciting ports, Star Clippers offers five trans-Atlantic crossings in 2014 ranging from 14 to 24 nights. Trans-Atlantic journeys in April, October and November reposition the ships between Europe and the Caribbean.

The brochure also highlights additional pre- and post-cruise land tour options in Greece and Turkey. Between two and six nights, the tours allow for an overland journey to Athens and several smaller destinations like Navplion and Delphi in Greece, and Istanbul, Turkey.

Guests who book early can take advantage of the line’s Advance Purchase Discounts, which can provide significant savings. Early bookings were strong for Star Clippers’ 2013 Europe sailing season, so guests are encouraged to reserve space early to ensure they get the sailing and accommodations of their choice.
