This Week in Cruise: Viking River Cruises to Introduce Six New Longships

March 19, 2012 By: Elliott Mest Travel Agent

Viking River Cruises commissioned six new Viking Longships for delivery in 2013. This doubles the total number of Longships in operation. With the six additional vessels, Viking will have invested over $400 million in its fleet development program over three years.

Coral Sands Travel combined operations with Expedia CruiseShipCenters Online Vacation Center. Coral Sands is estimated to have 400 home based agents and has been based in the Fort Myers, Fla. area. The two host agencies will be known as Expedia CruiseShipCenters-OVC and will be based in the Ft. Lauderdale area with an estimated combined membership of 600.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises debuts Sette Mari at La Veranda aboard three of its ships. The restaurant, catered for casual dining, offers antipasti and Italian items paired with Italian wines. Sette Mari will debut on Seven Seas Navigator on May 30, followed by Seven Seas Voyager on July 2 and Seven Seas Mariner on July 13. Sette Mari is open for dinner only; reservations are not required.
