Two Holland America Line cruise ships received perfect scores on recent health inspections conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Both the Noordam and the Zuiderdam received the highest possible score of 100 when they were inspected January 5 and December 19, respectively.

“Our shipboard and shoreside teams work hard to achieve a perfect score on CDC inspections, and to have two more ships get 100 is a testament to their hard work and dedication,” said Orlando Ashford, president of Holland America Line.

During previous inspections last year, both the Eurodam and the Westerdam, from the Holland America Line, got scores of 100 on their health inspections.

Cruise ships began getting inspected by the CDC in the 1970s, and unannounced inspections must happen on all passenger ships that call in a U.S. port. The inspections are conducted twice a year for each ship. Both the Noordam and the Zuiderdam were inspected in Ft. Lauderdale.
