Carnival Corporation & plc opened its regional office in Singapore, which now houses the new Carnival Asia unit created to oversee the company’s expansion in Asia. Princess Cruises will be introducing the largest deployment ever by a premium cruise line in the region when it brings Sapphire Princess to Singapore for four months starting November 2014.
As part of its expansion strategy for the region, Carnival Corporation & plc is also growing Costa Cruises' operations in Asia, with Costa Atlantica making its first call to Singapore. From May to June Costa Atlantica will sail three- and four-night cruises to Thailand and Malaysia from Singapore. In June, the ship will homeport at Keelung, Taiwan, for two special five-night cruises to Japan and South Korea. From July until year's end, Costa Atlantica will sail from Shanghai on four- and five-night cruises to Fukuoka, Cheju, Kagoshima and Kobe, Japan, and Pusan and Incheon, South Korea.
Costa Atlantica will also provide Costa Cruises' first-ever round-trip world cruise from China in 2014. The voyage departs Shanghai on March 22, with Costa Atlantica sailing an 83-day journey that spans five continents and three oceans, and calls at 23 destinations in 16 countries. Costa Cruises will partner with Shanghai Airline Tours on the world cruise, a division of China Eastern Airlines Corporation that engages in touring, travel and transportation.
Silversea Cruises is also expanding its offerings with eight new Silver Galapagos voyages of three and four days will be combined with South American land adventures to create eight, 10 or 11-day packages. New itineraries include a four-day Baltra-to-San Cristóbal expedition and an three-day San Cristobal-to-Baltra voyage. New packages include the eight-day Machu Piccu & Galapagos package; 10-day Puno, Lake Titicaca & Galapagos package; and the 11-day Amazon Explorer & Galapagos Package.
