This week in the cruise industry MSC Cruises reshuffled its executive team in the North America and Asia markets.

The line appointed Helen Huang as its new president, Greater China, to lead its newly-established Shanghai office.

The move follows this year’s deployment of MSC Lirica, the first MSC Cruises ship to homeport in Shanghai. Huang’s appointment is effective immediately, and she will be based in Shanghai. Huang has over 20 years’ experience in the travel industry, with stints at Costa Asia, Costa China, Mediterranean Cruise Travel Agency (Shanghai) Co., Ltd and Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd.

In North America, MSC Cruises announced new executive appointments aimed at supporting the next phase of the line’s growth. Long-time MSC executive Roberto Fusaro was tapped to assume the role of president, North America, while Rick Sasso was named to the post of chairman of MSC North America. Adrian Ursilli and Javier Massignani were named managing director for Brazil and Argentina, respectively.

Prior to his appointment, Fusaro had led MSC’s South America business for 11 years. Sasso had led the MSC Cruises North America team for over 12 years.
