This Week in Cruise: Silversea's Silver Select Heads to the Caribbean; Holland America Digs Into Its 2015 Grand World Voyage

Silversea's Silver Select promotion is being expanded beyond Alaska and the Mediterranean to include Caribbean voyages. The Silver Select promotion enables guests to personalize voyages with a choice from three offers: a two-category suite upgrade, a $500 per person credit towards the purchase of the Silver Sky air program or a $500 per person onboard credit that can be used for shore excursions, spa treatments, restaurants and more.

Silver Select is available aboard five 2014-2015 Caribbean voyages, and is still available on several 2014 Alaska and Mediterranean voyages with an extended booking deadline of Aug. 31.

Holland America Line went into detail on its 2015 Grand World Voyage. The 114-day itinerary aboard the ms Amsterdam is available in eight segments ranging from 22 to 57 days, calling on 45 ports in 25 countries. Reservations for the voyage are open now, and guests who pay in full by July 31, 2015 receive a three-percent discount off of the cruise fare.

Early Booking Amenities for full Grand World Voyage guests who book by July 31 include prepaid hotel service charges, shipboard credit, luggage delivery service and a complimentary shore excursion or champagne for select stateroom categories. Guests booking a segment of the Grand World Voyage by July 31 receive a shipboard credit that varies depending on stateroom category.

Carnival Cruise Line launched a new video series instructing viewers on the line's recipes, tips special guests and vacation-inspired ideas viewable using computers, tablets and mobile devices. 

The bi-weekly series began with a video on how to make a Texas-style burger, with upcoming videos giving viewers an inside look at recipes from the BlueIguana Cantina, mixed cocktails from the Alchemy Bar and creating the line’s towel animals.
