crystal serenityMajor cruise lines are starting to roll out their itineraries for 2017.

Crystal Cruises has announced the availability of six abbreviated segments for its 2017 World Cruise. The segments, ranging from 10-23 days and each featuring at least one overnight stay, include offerings in South America and the Caribbean, as well as the first World Cruise visit to Antarctica in 10 years, Crystal said. The 94-day World Cruise sails roundtrip from Miami onboard Crystal Serenity starting January 10, 2017.

Crystal is also offering extended "Silver Celebration Fares," which offer significant savings off the all-inclusive cruise fares, plus up to $500 "As You Wish" spending credits per stateroom for bookings made by December 30, 2015.

Silversea, meanwhile, has opened reservations on its own collection of 2017 voyages. Itineraries for Silver Muse, scheduled to debut in early 2017, will open for reservations in the coming weeks.

In terms of ocean cruises, the line will be visiting new ports of call at Sassnitz, Germany; Galway, Ireland; Bodø, Norway; Geraldton, Australia; Ilhabela, Brazil; Fredericia, Denmark; Gisborne, New Zealand; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and Sir Bani Yas Island, UAE. The line will also be offering its own World Cruise, departing San Francisco on January 6, 2017, on a 116-day voyage to Monte Carlo, stopping at 62 destinations in 25 countries.

Silversea's 2017 season will also see the expansion of its expedition fleet to four ships that November when Silver Cloud joins Silver Explorer, Silver Discoverer, and Silver Galapagos. Featured among dozens of inaugural calls are such places as Ampangorinana, Nosy Komba (Madagascar); Aride Island, Seychelles; Maheshkhali Island, Bangladesh; Makura Island, Vanuatu; Isle of May, Scotland; and Grimsey Island, Iceland.

Fresh from an extensive refurbishment and conversion to an ice-class expedition ship, Silver Cloud launches a series of Antarctica voyages in November and December, featuring itineraries from 10 to 19 days, and sailing mostly roundtrip from Ushuaia.

Finally, Insight Vacations has announced the release of its 2016-2017 Europe and Britain collection with nine new all-inclusive trips and four new itineraries, many of which include river cruises.

Many of Insight’s Signature hotels have been upgraded this year, and Insight is also introducing new “Relaxed Starts” with start times of 9:00 a.m. or later on various itineraries. The company's 13-day Italian Elegance journey will include a cruise to the village of Portofino, as well as a gondola ride in Venice. Insight's Grecian Legends, Grecian Dreams & Grecian Fables itinerary offers 12, 13 or 16 days of cruising around Turkey and the Greek islands. Highlights include staying at an Athens Signature hotel, the Divani Caravel, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
