What Will Royal Caribbean Name Its New Ships?

Wonder what the next names for Royal Caribbean International's newest ship ships might be? Well, agents can get a look at the potential short list by examining a filing that Royal Caribbean recently made with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

On Friday, the line’s blog -- www.royalcaribbeanblog.com -- announced that the line had filed to trademark five new ship names, which could potentially be used (at least some of them) for future ships.

Those names submitted for trademarking are: Spectrum of the Seas, Emblem of the Seas, Joy of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas and Apex of the Seas.

In addition, the line said it also added three other names to that filing – Ovation of the Seas, Passion of the Seas and Pulse of the Seas. These names had been previously submitted in a 2012 trade filing.

In fact earlier this week, Royal Caribbean announced this week that Ovation of the Seas will be the name of its next Quantum-class cruise ship. But there are yet unnamed third and fourth Oasis-class ships that could potentially receive any of the other names above.
