Ferry ticket service Direct Ferries has announced that it is making its Cuba ferry product on www.cubaferries.com available for travel agents and affiliates to offer their customers via its dedicated Travel Agents system. This allows agents to view schedules and fares and make live bookings and requests while earning top commissions—agents can earn up to 7.5 percent commission on gross sales. Affiliates will be able to monetize site traffic or provide users with a ferry booking widget.

With the easing of travel restrictions in 2015, the U.S. government has granted licenses to major ferry companies to operate between Florida and Cuba. All that remains now is for the Cuban government to grant official permission, which is expected to happen soon, Direct Ferries said.

Among the companies available on www.cubaferries.com is Baleària, a Spanish shipping company currently operating ferry service between Port Everglades and the Bahamas.  As soon as Cuba gives the nod, Baleària will deploy ferries from Key West and Port Everglades. Baleària will build a new ferry terminal in Havana.

Baja Ferries, which currently serves Pacific ports in Mexico and California, plans to offer Miami-Havana service. America Cruise Ferries, known to passengers between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, will offer service between Miami and Havana, and plans to carry vehicles as well as passengers.
