Couples looking to book a destination wedding in the South Pacific have a new option in the new Edgewater Floating Bures at Fiji's Koro Sun Resort.
The new bures, which debuted May 1, are individually-designed Fijian-style thatched roofed accommodations, with plantation pine and sustainably harvested wood, floating over the lagoon. Each stay comes with sunset Fijian serenaders that sing certain nights during cocktail hour.
The new 380-square-foot Floating Bure can accommodate up to two people each.
The new bures are positioned floating within the Koro Sun Marina on the adults-only peninsula, as featured on ABC's “The Bachelorette.”
In celebration of the new accommodations, the resort is offering a new introductory rate of $544 plus tax, including three meals a day, per couple per night, or $272 per person based on double occupancy. Regular rack rates for the new accommodations are priced at $680 year-round.
The resort is also offering an “Afloat in Paradise” package priced at $2,720 per couple, for five nights accommodation plus tax, available through August 1. The new package is based on space availability, double occupancy with a two-night minimum stay required. The “Afloat in Paradise” package represents a 20 percent savings off the regularly-priced Edgewater Floating Bure accommodation rates. Additionally,the package includes a complimentary 30-minute massage for two in the resort’s Rainforest Spa and a romantic candlelight dinner prepared specially by the resort’s executive chef, and enjoyed in the privacy of the new floating bure.
The resort is now accepting bookings for both the new rate and package.
Each stay includes air conditioned ground transportation pick up at Savusavu Airport, check-in service at the main Club House, a coconut oil foot rub/bath, three meals a day, a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival, afternoon tea, and a full range of non-motorized activities. The resort can customize destination weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, group travel and incentives.
The floating bures were built with a hand-crafted design with interior furnishings composed of highly polished Raintree wood with native Dongo wood accents. Each bure has a built-in king size captain’s bed, adorned with a contemporary Fijian style bedspread; a built in lounge; its own countertop bar; refrigerator; air conditioning; soft indirect lighting and recessed reading lights; a private deck for relaxation with a day bed; and their own private dock. Each interior space highlights screened glass louver windows, allowing for natural light to shine through the bure with cream color curtains. Each contemporary styled bathroom with rain shower has Raintree wood benches, countertops and Pure Fiji line of personal care amenities. Artwork depicts 19th Century Fijian mariners on catamarans in the open seas.
As part of their stay, guests can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, rainforest trekking, stand up paddle boarding, hand line fishing, golf, traditional lovo feast, (traditional Fijian cuisine) meke (Fijian song and dance), croquet, bocce ball, tennis, cooking classes, weekly church service, a visit to a Fijian village school, and a visit the nearby pearl farm.
Guests staying in the new floating bures can also enjoy the Edgewater Beach Club offering a sandy beach area right at the water’s edge with access to both the ocean and the Infinity pool. The Club has the Wai Bar, a swim up bar serving tropical cocktails and local beers from the pool’s edge and has two day beds and personal loungers. Guests can also head out to the lagoon from the beach to view some of Savusavu’s corals.
