Beaver Creek's 8100 Restaurant Named One Of Country's Best

The billiards are a nice addition to 8100 restaurant

As we recently mentioned, ski season does not end with springtime. So if you have clients who haven't had the chance to hit the slopes yet, or are aching for one last run down some powdery slopes, there's still time to act and get some nice packages planned. And if your clients are heading to the Beaver Creek area, then let them know about 8100 restaurant at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek.

After a long day on the mountain, bodies get re-nourished with healthy high-end cuisine and the soul gets treated to incredible views and warm ambience. Esquire magazine named 8100 one of its top restaurants of 2009, noting the place is a "true Rocky Mountain grill with a great wine list."

We learned more about the dining hot spot in a recent sit-down with Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Director of Sales and Marketing J. Scott Gubrud. He tells us that all cuisine is local and indigenous to the region. Our suggestion: try the elk! Organic and sustainable vegetables are complemented by lean and healthy meat, such as grass-fed and farm-raised Buffalo.

The restaurant is at the base of the mountain, so once the day is done it's easy to kick off apres and relax as you taste Colorado through the views of the mountains and Beaver Creek village. Inside, the brand new space uses natural elements to instill a contemporary and modern feel— there's some brand new billiards, too.

With extra blankets and heaters available on the outside patio, noshing outdoors is just about as cozy as indoors. And with upcoming grilling demos by the property's executive chef, including luxury bbq dishes and how-to tips on grilling your own meals, it's not a bad idea to pass the chic lounge inside for the patio experience.

Gubrud also told us that the past month at Beaver Creek has brought one snowstorm after the other, including one that brought nearly three feet just two weeks ago. Although the property is reporting 90 percent occupancy in March there are still rooms and deals to be had, Gubrud tells us. And it doesn't end in March. In fact, ski season has been known to last in Beaver Creek through May. So there's still plenty of time to get your clients on the slopes and into the apres experience.
