Discover New York Offers Art Tours to Celebrate 2nd Avenue Subway Launch

After 100 years of work, the first section of the new 2nd Avenue Subway line is set to open in New York City on New Year’s Eve, New York-based destination management company Discover New York reports. 

The new line will bring a set of new installations for art lovers to explore, and to celebrate Discover New York is offering personalized art explorations. 

New York Governor Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio will ride on the new line’s inaugural ride New Year’s Eve, along with press and co-hosts from organizations including the Central Park Conservancy, Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, and The Met. The train will depart from 72nd Street at 10:30 p.m. and stop at all the new stations. MTA Chairman Thomas Prendergast will also be joining, as well as community members and business owners along the line.
