ANAHEIM, CA—The subs are back! Travel Agent was onsite recently for the opening ceremony of Disney-Pixar's new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage in Disneyland Park. The inside of a submarine on the new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride

The new attraction, a highlight of the ongoing "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration throughout Disney, is set in the Tomorrowland section of the decades-old theme park. It occupies the submarine lagoon, where Disney operated the "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" ride from 1959 to 1998.

Paying tribute to that classic submarine ride, eight of the original submarines have been rebuilt and modernized with environmentally friendly electric power. The undersea lagoon was also extensively upgraded. It now uses a four-channel stereophonic sound system, audio-Animatronics characters and digital imaging technology to feature three-dimensional scenes and sounds of the hit Disney movie Finding Nemo.

Throughout the eight-minute and 15-second ride, guests will hear a soundtrack composed by Ed Kalnins that features many of the original voices from the film, including actors Andrew Stanton (who played Crush) and Barry Humphries (Bruce).

Disneyland has plenty of new attractions, programs and events planned for its ongoing "Year of a Million Dreams" campaign in 2007

The new attraction is part of Disney's Early Entry program, which allows anyone with a three-day (or longer) Park Hopper ticket to enter Fantasyland and Tomorrowland one hour prior to the park's general opening to the public. Advise clients that this is the best way to see popular new attractions, as the rides' lines are much longer during the midday peak hours.

The Year of a Million Dreams

Hundreds of media professionals attended the ride's celebrity-studded launch and party, held June 10 and 11 in Disneyland's Tomorrowland. Attendees also were given updates on the park's other new attractions, including Pirate's Lair, a ride based on the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. This ride's opening coincided with the release date of the new movie Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which opened May 25.

Also new at the park is Disney's eTicket option for guests purchasing tickets to Disneyland and to Disney's California Adventure (which together make up DisneylandPark). Launched in April 2007, the system allows guests to buy tickets online 24 hours a day, and print them in advance. Purchase tickets at www.disneyland.com/eticket.

To celebrate the Year of a Million Dreams, Disney is offering several packages to share with clients, which include park tickets, accommodations at a Disney hotel or other nearby hotels and entrance fees to other nearby parks. For more information, visit www.disneyland.com.
