Reuters reports that Hard Rock International Inc will open new hotels in Macau and Malaysia this year and will open a $223-million, 360-room hotel in Singapore in 2010. The Singapore hotel will charge around S$500 (US $331) a night for a room with two queen-size beds and a big-screen TV. This is more than twice the average room rate in Singapore. Hard Rock Hotel Singapore will be one of the six hotels at Resorts World at Sentosa, an entertainment complex comprising a casino, a Universal Studios theme park, an oceanarium and 1,800 hotel rooms.
Hard Rock International Inc is also in talks to expand in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo and Bangkok.
