Iberia's A330 Aircraft to Fly Between Madrid and New York

 

Good news for Spain-bound travelers: The new Iberia A330 aircraft will operate its first flight May 1, 2013, from Madrid to New York; it will arrive in JFK airport at 2:35 p.m. and will fly back to Madrid at 5:05 p.m.

The aircraft has Iberia’s brand new Business and Economy class sections for long-haul flights. Passengers flying Business will get wider seats that unfold into fully flat beds almost 80 inches long, each of them with direct access to the aisle. The new Business class seat includes 15.5” entertainment screens with access each month to some 50 feature films, plus 80 TV series, documentaries, some 200 musical options, and 3D games, among many other choices.

In the Economy cabin, seats are more ergonomic and wider, equipped with individual 9” touch screens, a wide film and TV series offer, documentaries, as well as a children’s program. Every seat has a connection port for Apple devices and a USB port, while universal power sockets are also available.

Iberia will soon be adding Wi-Fi Internet access and SMS capability for all its long-haul customers.

The A330 already operates to Boston and Miami it will soon serve Chicago. Flights to Los Angeles, the fifth Iberia destination in the U.S., will be operated by the Airbus A340 aircraft – Iberia is already refitting its 17 A340/600 aircraft with the new products; the first unit will be ready in June.

Iberia currently flies two times a day from New York JFK to Madrid and it will operate three daily flights between June and August. In 2013, Iberia will offer nearly 1.15 million seats between Spain and the U.S.
