Jim Heather Tapped as General Manager of The Wyland Waikiki & Spa

Jim Heather has been appointed general manager of The Wyland Waikiki & Spa, which is being rebranded a Courtyard by Marriott this summer. The property will operate under a franchise agreement with Marriott, while Outrigger Hotels & Resorts will continue managing the property.

Heather will oversee the hotel’s transition over the next few months to the newly named Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach in addition to being responsible for all operational aspects of the 405-room hotel. Heather began his career with Outrigger Enterprises Group in 1998 as director of rooms for the Outrigger Guam Resort. In 2002, he moved to Hawaii to join Outrigger’s Condominium Collection as general manager of the Outrigger Kanaloa at Kona resort condominium on Hawaii’s Big Island. Since 2004, Heather has been general manager of the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach in Honolulu. His experience in the hospitality industry also includes management positions with Hilton Hotels in Guam and Crowne Plaza in Tokyo, Japan.
