Central Florida is set to receive a new $800 million luxury resort development, called Palazzo del Lago. The project will include the largest InterContinental hotel in the world, the InterContinental Resort & Residences Orlando, which will include 1,260 hotel rooms and hotel condominium units. Construction is slated to begin in the fall with a scheduled opening date of early 2009. Palazzo del Lago will feature a world-class spa, water sports facility, five themed restaurants, putting green, tennis courts and a swimming pool.
