Students 12 and over can get hands-on with artifacts and surveillance equipment.

Author Talk and Book Signing (January 14, 1 p.m.): George Christie, author of “Exile on Front Street: My Life as a Hell’s Angel… and beyond,” reveals how he gave up a comfortable job with the Department of Defense and swore allegiance to the Hell’s Angels. Wiseguy Speaker Series and Book Signing: Ioan Grillo’s “Gangster Warlords” (January 19, 7 p.m.): The Latin American journalist and author will discuss the crime wars that have created a crisis in Latin America and the Caribbean since the Cold War. Grillo’s book addresses how U.S. policies have facilitated the rise of a new kind of criminal kingpin who excels in strong-arming governments while seizing control of narcotics, firearms, and human trafficking

Community Safety Forum (January 22, 2-3 p.m.): Presented in partnership with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and sponsored by NV Energy, January’s event will focus on driving under the influence and distracted driving awareness. In addition, an NV Energy spokesperson will be on hand to discuss how distracted driving impacts electrical reliability.

Movie Screening: “Rob the Mob,” (January 24, 6 p.m.): An introduction by screenwriter Jonathan Fernandez, followed by a screening of a film called “one of the most realistic and honest accounts of the Mafia ever put on film.” Rob the Mob is the true-life story of a crime duo who specialize in robbing Mafia-run social clubs. The film stars Michael Pitt, Andy Garcia, Ray Romano, and Nina Arianda

Happy Anniversary, Mob Museum!
