Travel Agent was on location at the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) in Punta Cana, and met up with the Minister of Tourism for the Dominican Republic Francisco Javier Garcia. In his remarks during the opening ceremony, he said that sustainable tourism and preserving the environment are key concerns for the Dominican Republic when announcing that the southern region of Barahona will see new luxury eco-resorts that will expand the island's offering in this tourism segment. He also announced that opening of nine tourist offices in the U.S. to boost promotions.
