Major Hotel Project Breaks Ground in Los Angeles

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was on hand at the groundbreaking of a 1,001-room hotel and 224-room residence tower in downtown Los Angeles, which will be part of L.A. LIVE, a sports, entertainment and residential district. The 54-story hotel and condominium tower will total two million square feet on 2.5 acres of land and will contain The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. LIVE, the four-star JW Marriott and the five-star The Ritz-Carlton hotel. These new hotel rooms will provide a lodging option for the more than 2.5 million convention attendees who annually visit downtown Los Angeles. The tower is scheduled for completion in early 2010.
