Mazatlan to Host 2018 Tianguis Turisticio

Mazatlan, Mexico, has been chosen to host the 43rd Tianguis Turistico in 2018. Known as the “Colonial City on the beach," Mazatlan won out over the cities of Guadalajara and Querataro. The selection process, led by the Ministry of Tourism and the Mexico Tourism Board, considered three proposals, including Mazatlan, Guadalajara and Querataro. The process took into consideration air connectivity, hotel capacity and meetings and exhibition space, though the final decision was unanimous.

Tianguis Turistico is set to take place on an unannounced date between March and April. Since 2012, the event has been circulating between Mexican resort destinations, most recently taking place in Acapulco

The event will provide an opportunity for business in the Mexican Pacific Beach location while exhibiting the destination's natural attractions, history, cultural heritage and people. Tianguis Turistico is both an important tourism event for Mexico and a platform to develop partnerships and showcase tourism offerings.

Mazatlan is recognized for its 12 miles of beach and surrounding villages such as El Quelite, Copala, Concordia, and El Rosario
