New Year, New Name for Disney Park

Disney-MGM Studios will ring in 2008 with a new moniker. The new name, Disney's Hollywood Studios, reflects how the park has grown, said Meg Crofton, president of Walt Disney World Resorts, specifically from the golden age of movies to the entertainment of today that encompasses music, television, movies and theater, she said. Too, the Orlando resort will open five new attractions this year: Toy Story Mania!, an interactive game; Block Party Bash, an interactive parade; Playhouse Disney Live on Stage!, featuring a whole new cast; Disney High School Musical 2: School's Out, which brings the Disney Channel movie to life; and a new character for guests to meet-Handy Manny. "This is one of the most ambitious attractions rollouts in the 18-year history of the park," Crofton said in a statement. "With so many great coming attractions, we are thrilled to be launching a Studios year unlike any other, wrapped in a brand new name." Visit [www.disneytravelagents.com].
