Niagara Falls Could Be Ousted from New7Wonders of Nature Global Campaign

Niagara Falls has been a front runner in the global election for the New7Wonders of Nature Campaign. However, unlike many of the 261 sites that qualified for the second phase, Niagara Falls does not have an Official Supporting Committee representing it in the United States. There is a OSC in Canada, but without a U.S. version, the Falls risk disqualification. The falls currently rank high in the Top 77 natural sites and rank number one in their category.

New7Wonders sent letters on March 11 to Niagara Falls Mayor Paul A. Dyster,
Niagara Tourism & Convention Corporation CEO John Percy and Chairperson Jerauld A. Genova with the Niagara Falls Tourism Advisory Board, asking them to create or support the formation of an American OSC for Niagara Falls to work with the Canadian one and with New7Wonders.

On July 7, the top 77 based on voting will have the chance to be one of the 21 Official Finalists in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign. Visit www.new7wonders.com
