Onsite: Hong Kong Shopping Festival

HONG KONG-As Hong Kong prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, it's also shining light on one of the destination's major strengths. Hong Kong is well known as a world-class shopping destination. Its appeal will get kicked up a notch during the Hong Kong Shopping Festival, to be held June 30 to August 31. This is the sixth year for the festival, and the first in which Visa International has partnered with the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Visitors will be able to take advantage of deals through the "Visa Preferred Merchants Tourist offers." Visitors who purchase the MTR Tourist 1-day Pass or Airport Express Tourist Octopus will receive a free copy of the MTR Easy Ride to Hong Kong Shopping Festival, a shopping guide packed with buying tips and special bargains. Thirty-four hotels in Hong Kong will also be offering special two-night room packages geared around the Tenth Anniversary celebrations. In addition, more than 200 restaurants will proffer select drinks and dishes priced at HK$10, or approximately U.S.1.25.
