Next month, the Pala Band of Mission Indians will open its $100 million expansion at Pala Casino Spa and Resort in northern San Diego County. The expansion includes major improvements to the resort’s dining and gaming areas and a new parking garage.

The Pala Casino’s buffet area has been expanded to 20,000 square feet and renamed Choices. The buffet area has eight live-action cooking stations, seating for more than 625 guests, an area for private parties, interior bathrooms and mountain views. Two new restaurants will open; Amigos, a Mexican eatery, and Sushi Sake, a Japanese restaurant. Pala’s casino floor will debut a poker room with 15 tables, private cage windows and tableside dining. The poker room will schedule tournaments and high-hand and jackpot promotions.

It will also be easier to get to the resort due to a widening and realignment project on State Route 76. Two of four lanes in a 1.5-mile stretch of State Route 76 are now open to the public, providing quicker and more convenient traveling. The AAA 4-diamond Pala Casino Spa Resort has 507 rooms, including 82 suites.
