Shangri-La Acquires Paris Property

Shangri-La Asia has acquired Prince Roland Bonaparte's historic mansion in Paris and is converting it into the Shangri-La Hotel, Paris. This will mark Shangri-La's first hotel in Europe when it opens in late 2008. The Shangri-La Hotel at London Bridge Tower will open in 2010 as the group's second property in Europe. The 110-year old mansion was designed by Napoleon Bonaparte's grandnephew and will be transformed into a 140-room hotel with a Chinese restaurant and a rooftop terrace. The hotel will also feature an indoor pool, health club and retail space. Located near the Trocadero, the building is within walking distance of The Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe.
