Following a deal between Messe Berlin and the Singapore Tourism Board, the city will host the Asian edition of ITB Berlin next year. Initially, the event will focus on the travel buyers and sellers of the region with the aim of expanding to the size of Berlin's event, which attracted 11,000 exhibitors and more than 160,000 visitors this year, Channel News Asia reports. "If ITB is successful, we can launch some other international shows," Raimund Hosch, president and CEO of Messe Berlin, told the paper. "The main point is we need to have the quality of the international shows and the access for international exhibitors and visitors as we can get in ITB Berlin." Singapore's show will be held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre October 22 through 24, 2008.
