(c) 2011 The Wayfarers

The Wayfarers’ latest walking tour sets foot in Alsace, France, before making its way through local farms, vineyards and villages.

Combining the great outdoors with gastronomic passions, the seven-day Alsace tour will introduce walkers to local French cuisine as they explore the cultural best of the region. They will visit feudal castles and historic villages, as well as engage with farmers and vintners while savoring regional specialties.

The guided tour sets off from Strasbourg, with a route that winds its way through the Rhine Valley, the Black Forest and Alsace’s Wine Trail with stops at vineyards for tastings.

Tour dates for Alsace are September 4-10, 2011, and June 17-23 and September 9-15 in 2012.

The tour is priced at $3,895 U.S./CDN per person, double occupancy. A single supplement of $575 is available. Prices for 2011 apply to all 2012 tours secured by deposit by December 31.

The tour includes all accommodations, meals and trail snacks, wine with dinner, entrance fees, guides, van transport, and taxes and gratuities at hotels and restaurants.
