An Adventures by Disney itinerary is a worthwhile option for clients traveling with kids in tow

News surfaced this past month that Disney Vacations added the increasingly popular Costa Rica to its portfolio, with some interesting packages to pitch to clients.

The 2008 Adventures by Disney vacations include 10 returning trips and eight new itineraries to destinations including Costa Rica and Peru.

This might come as the perfect option for those indecisive clients. “If you feel overwhelmed with all of the options when considering a Costa Rica vacation, booking an Adventures By Disney vacation is a great solution—especially if you’re traveling with kids,” Andrew Bolstein, vice president, trip operations, Adventures By Disney, says. “Adventures by Disney offers expertly planned, family-friendly vacations with a great balance of culture, authenticity, scheduled activities and on-your-own time. You’ll enjoy deluxe accommodations and meals at exceptional restaurants without having to do any of the research yourself.”

The new Costa Rica itinerary includes visits to San José, Arenal Volcano National Park, Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. The package is for seven days and six nights. For the best value, trips from February to mid-October are recommended, while the highest rates are from April to late December. Meals include six breakfasts, four lunches and five dinners.

Accommodations
The breakdown for the Costa Rica packages is one night at the Costa Rica Intercontinental Real San Jose; nights two, three and four at the Arenal Kioro Hotel; and nights five and six at the Hotel Arenas del Mar.

Things to Know
Disney welcomes children ages four and up at the time of travel, but recommends that children be at least six years old for the “Path to Pura Vida” trip. This is based on several factors, such as high altitude at the destination and amount of physical activity involved.

Throughout the year, the weather in Costa Rica ranges from the mid to high 70s and 80s, and nighttime temperatures are around 60 degrees Fahrenheit. There are occasional rain showers throughout the year.

Rates
Early booking rates for adults range from $2,159 to $2,399, and from $1,949 to $2,159 for children. Regular rates range from $2,699 to $2,999 for adults and from $2,429 to $2,699 for children.

Commission and Contact Information
Adventures by Disney pays a 10 percent commission on the land portion, and 5 percent on the air portion of the vacation. The company will protect travel agent commission if Adventures by Disney cancels a tour. If a client cancels, the company will not protect the commission. If the client has purchased the 2008 travel protection plan, and the cancellation was due to a covered reason, the agent can file a claim with Access America to protect commission.
