IsramWorld Cancels Tour Programs to Dubai

IsramWorld haults itineraries to Dubai


As could be said for most of the world, Dubai is feeling the sting from the economy. According to a recent New York Times article, many laid-off foreigners are leaving the country to avoid ending up in debtors’ prisons, and on the hotel side, new projects are at a standstill.

Not an economic dilemma per se, more troubles might be added to Dubai on the tour operator front: New York-based tour operator IsramWorld has canceled its tour programs to Dubai, an announcement made in the wake of United Arab Emirates' decision to deny a visa to Israeli tennis player Shahar Peer to participate in the Dubai Tennis Championships. In a release, President and CEO of IsramWorld A. Ady Gelber called this slight an “odious act of political bigotry.”
