North Korea Lifts Travel Ban

January 29, 2010 By: Meagan Drillinger

Travel Agent has been keeping you up to date with the latest in U.S. travel to Cuba. Now another country, once restricted to U.S. citizens, is also lifting its ban.

Bloomberg reported today that North Korea is allowing U.S. tourists to visit the country year-round. Previously the country accepted U.S. travelers only druing the "Arirang" mass games in August and September, and travel was limited to five days.

"Korea International Travel Co., North Korea's biggest travel agency, has confirmed the government's decision," Bloomberg reports.

At this time Asia Pacific Travel is the only U.S. tour operator with government permission to bring tourists to North Korea.
