Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort Introduces Guests to New Shangri-La Gardens

The Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort in Costa Rica has introduced their new Shangri-La Gardens as a haven for adults to escape and relax. The “secret garden” setting is a peaceful retreat that features six natural volcano-heated river pools and a thermal waterfall. It is lit with torches that spotlight the new chaise lounge furnishings and butlers serve a menu of Asian and Latin tapas, as well as specialty cocktails and martinis.

Tabacón aims to preserve the country’s natural resources by using only completely natural springs, rivers and waterfalls. The 100 percent carbon neutral resort has been the recipient of the prestigious Luxury Eco Certification Standards (LECS) from Sustainable Tourism International. It is also a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, The Leading Spas of the World, and Healing Hotels of the World. Wellness and green living are very important at Tabacón and their new Lifestyle & Wellness Program also promotes these ideas. The program incorporates the balance principles of Ayurveda, healthful education, and personal and nutritional sustainability.

The 114-room resort features a three-unit Temazcal, 11 outdoor treatment bungalows, and an indigenous treatment menu that includes volcanic mud wraps and Watsu in an outdoor thermal pool. Its rain forest setting includes natural hot spring pools, natural waterfalls, natural lagoons, thermal river pools and exotic gardens. Nearby activities also include nature tours, hanging bridges, ziplining, canyoning, and hiking to the volcano.
