Can popular interest in dinosaurs build sales? Tauck believes it can. With the theatrical release of the new $85 million, 3D motion picture Walking With Dinosaurs set for later this month, Tauck sees dinosaur fever running rampant among children throughout the coming year. One result: an all-inclusive, five-day exploration of all things dinosaur co-crafted by Tauck, a leader in guided luxury travel, and the filmmakers at BBC Earth.

The one-time, five-day event, “Walking With Dinosaurs: A Journey Through Time,” is scheduled for next July 17-21 in and around Calgary, Alberta; an area home to some of the planet’s richest fossil beds and one of the world’s most comprehensive dinosaur museums, Tauck notes.

The dinosaur event is the first all-new travel experience resulting from Tauck’s just-announced “Earth Journeys” partnership with BBC Earth and will draw on the expertise behind the original BBC television series Walking with Dinosaurs. The  global audience is over 700 million, Tauck notes.

“Our partnership with Tauck has provided us with the perfect opportunity to create a unique trip that will give people the chance to travel to amazing places where the dinosaurs once roamed. This trip is perfect for families and with the 3D movie Walking with Dinosaurs giving a new generation the chance to experience and discover these amazing pre-historic creatures, we are certain that this will be a trip that people will never forget,” says Soumya Sriraman, executive vice presider, Home Entertainment and Licensing for BBC Worldwide North America.

According to Tauck CEO Dan Mahar, BBC Earth is the perfect partner to help create a dinosaur-themed travel experience.  “BBC Earth has already reached over 700 million people who share a fascination with dinosaurs, through projects including the BBC Walking With Dinosaurs television series and the Walking with Dinosaurs arena spectacular."

Guests attending the Tauck dinosaur event will be divided into small groups of 30 to 35 people for daily themed sightseeing “tracks,” ensuring an intimate, interactive experience. Different groups will experience these tracks on different days over the course of the event, ensuring all attendees enjoy the same overall experience, Tauck says. The program includes sightseeing tracks and educational events by experts.

Prices are from $3,190 per person (double occupancy) plus airfare, Tauck reports. This fully-inclusive includes all entertainment, sightseeing and other activities, admission to all attractions, all gratuities, all ground transportation (including Calgary airport transfers), most meals, and much more. Also included are accommodations at the four diamond-rated Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire. Particularly well-suited to hosting families with children, the Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire is an all-suites property.
