Globus Cancels Egypt Tour and Cruise Departures

Globus canceled its Egypt-bound tour and cruise departures, stating that its customers' well-being and safety was its top priority.

"Due to the current situation in Cairo and the related U.S. government Travel Warning for Egypt, we have cancelled upcoming tour and cruise departures to Egypt through February 28, 2011."

Only Cosmos tours and Avalon Waterways cruises are affected at this time, Globus said. Customers currently booked on upcoming Cosmos or Avalon Egypt tours or cruises through February 28, 2011 can rebook their tour or cruise without penalty or choose to receive a refund. “We are recommending that future travel is rescheduled for April or later, or until the unrest subsides.

"We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly. Our customers currently in Egypt are in good hands and are being accommodated on return flights home," Globus said.

If agents have clients scheduled on an upcoming tour or cruise and have any questions they can email Globus at [email protected] or call the information line at 800-372-1761.
