London History Festival Celebrates England's Past

London's Kensington Central Library is hosting a series of talks between November 2 and 10. On Tuesday, Simon Sebag-Montefiore will discuss both history and his own career.

According to, other talks cover Charles I and the origins of the English Civil War; women in history and whether they were the real power behind the throne, with a panel including Alison Weir; the strategy and tactics of Waterloo, Rorke's Drift and Inkerman; and two evenings on war (one with former Telegraph war correspondent Patrick Bishop in conversation with Nigel Jones, and a history of war reporting chaired by Colin Freeman, chief foreign correspondent for the Sunday Telegraph).

The London History Festival runs November 2 through 10 at Kensington Central Library, Phillimore Walk W8. All events start 7 p.m., tickets range start at approximately $8.25 or $33 for all six events. Visit
