New Countries to Explore in Europe, South Pacific and Africa

As fans of new and up-and-coming destinations, we at Travel Agent quite enjoyed this article from Lonely Planet about countries that did not exist 20 years ago. (It's amazing how time flies, and how quickly geography can change!)

Among these destinations are several in Europe that emerged from the rubble of the Soviet Union, and have been finding their footing as tourism hotspots since. (Be sure to check out our upcoming story about travel in Sarajevo, Croatia and the Balkans to learn more.)
