Eurostar Resumes Limited Service

The New York Times and other sources reported that Eurostar suspended all its rail links between London, Paris and Brussels on Sunday as cold weather caused chaos on the high-speed passenger line for a third day, with no relief in sight. However as of Monday it was reported that limited service will continue starting Tuesday, December 22.

Trains will depart from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Only customers who hold a ticket that was originally for travel on December 19 or
 December 20 will be eligible for travel on December 22. Customers holding tickets for December 21 and 22 will be eligible for travel on the 23. Customers holding tickets for December 23 or December 24 will be eligible for travel on the 24. Customers whose journeys are not essential are advised not to travel.

The problems began Friday when five Eurostar trains broke down in the tunnel under the English Channel. After reports that passengers on at least one were left without water, food or information, Nirj Deva, a conservative member of the European Parliament, said Eurostar was guilty of incompetence.
