Mandarin Oriental Announces New General Managers

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced two general manager appointments at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas and Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, effective in April.

Rajesh Jhingon, most recently general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, has been appointed general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, which is scheduled to open in 2009 as part of the multi-billion CityCenter project. Jhingon has guided the Singapore property through an extensive renovation and renaming effort. The Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, will have 392 guestrooms and suites, a variety of dining venues and a 32,000-square-foot spa.

Paul Jones, hotel manager of the Oriental, Bangkok, a Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group property, will replace Jhingon at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore. For the past two-plus years, Jones has been responsible for the hotels daily operations and has overseen a number of refurbishment projects, including the renovation of The China House, the Sala Rim Naam Thai restaurant and the creation of the Ayurvedic Centre at the Spa.
