"We are running the social media webinars for travel agents because our agent partners have been requesting advice and training for the different social media outlets," said John Hanratty, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Travel Impressions. "We want to equip agents with as many tools as possible for reaching their customers and growing their business," Hanratty added. Agents can register via www.Facebook.com/TravelImpressions and click on the "Social U." tab.

Through Social U. by Travel Impressions, travel agents will learn at their own pace how to utilize various social media tools and tactics to market themselves to their clients. Agents will choose from "Beginner," "Intermediate" and "Advanced" webinars and can participate in all three levels of learning as the courses will be held on different days. The webinars will be offered as follows:

Beginner Webinar: Offered on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 1 pm ET/10 am PT.  This session is appropriate for agents who don’t currently use social media or have limited knowledge of social media. It will focus on tips for getting set up on Facebook and the best ways to start off with a social media strategy.

Intermediate Webinar: Scheduled for Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 1 pm ET/10 am PT. This program is for agents who use social media personally but would like tips for business purposes and tying in sales with social media activity. It will include tips for setting up and utilizing Facebook's new Timeline.

Advanced Webinar: Offered on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 1 pm ET/10 am PT.  This advanced webinar is for agents looking to improve engagement on their business page, increase fan base (free and paid options), utilize Facebook ads and measure their efforts.    It will focus on tips for optimizing Timeline and utilizing the new Facebook Insights feature to measure success.

After the completion of the series, Travel Impressions will post videos of the webinars under the Social U. tab on the Facebook page for agents who were unable to participate.

The webinars will be given by Dani Klein, who recently joined Travel Impressions as senior director of social media and customer engagement where he is responsible for social media strategy, communications, marketing and public relations. Previously, he held positions at American Express and Digitas working on each of their social media strategy teams.
