Fiji's Turtle Island Opens New Spa

Turtle Island has just completed a state-of-the-art, free standing spa, named Vonu Spa. (Vonu, for the record, is the Fijian name for turtle.) The spa itself is situated along Turtle Island’s Blue Lagoon, capturing the breezes that blow from the South Pacific. The new spa has two treatment rooms for couples or singles.

Keeping true to the sustainable history of Turtle Island, the spa itself is constructed of hardwood grown mostly on the island, and crafted by local Fijian artisans and woodworkers to maintain an authentic Fijian look and feel. The spa has a meditative Zen water garden for relaxation, as well as a veranda with loungers overlooking the Blue Lagoon where couples can keep the spirit of a spa treatment going while sipping champagne or tea.

Another important feature of the spa, given the popularity of the resort as a wedding destination, is a dedicated bridal preparation room.Wedding day services for brides include romantic up-do’s, manicure and pedicure, makeup for the glowing bride, and of course, indulgent spa treatments.

The Vonu Spa uses Pure Fiji products that use native plants, herbs and fruits such as coconut, orange blossom, passionflower, starfruit, white gingerlily and more. The signature treatment for Vonu Spa is a traditional Fijian Bobo massage, which is an indigenous technique passed down to generations of Fijian women to promote healing and rejuvenation.Other treatments include sports massage, four-handed lomi-lomi relaxation massage and reflexology treatments. All treatments are available to singles or couples.
