AirTran Airways Adds D.C. Flights for Inauguration Travel

November 19, 2008 By: Kirk Cassels

Agents with clients who are political junkies take note. As Washington, D.C., prepares for what may be the highest attendance at a presidential inauguration in decades on January 20, 2009, AirTran Airways is responding to customer demand by adding more roundtrip flights between Atlanta and both Baltimore/Washington and Washington Dulles airports, as well as between Milwaukee and Baltimore/Washington for January 21.

"We've had tremendous requests for flights to Washington D.C. during the period surrounding the presidential inauguration and we want to accommodate our customers by adding flights to meet the demand," said Kevin Healy, senior vice president of marketing and planning for AirTran Airways.

While seats remain available leading up to the inauguration on the routes, AirTran Airways is considering the addition of more flights if the planes fill quickly before January.
