Alaska Says Aloha

Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, has launched a new service between Portland, Oregon and Maui, Hawaii.

The airline will operate the new Portland-Maui service three times a week using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin. The thrice-weekly flights will expand to daily service starting August 7.

Previously, Alaska only offered connecting flights to Hawaii through Seattle. "Our Oregon customers have been waiting for years for this day," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing, sales and customer experience. "Customers now will be able to enjoy Alaska's unique brand of service and earn Mileage Plan miles whether they're booking a flight or a complete vacation package to the beautiful islands of Hawaii."

Flights from Portland will depart Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 9:50 a.m. and arrive at 12:45 p.m. Return flights will depart Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1:45 p.m. and arrive at 10:15 p.m.

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group, together serve more than 90 cities through an expansive network in Alaska, the Lower 48, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico.
