The St. Kitts Tourism Authority announced Monday that American Airlines will be increasing service to St. Kitts from Miami with daily flights beginning November 3. American Airlines flight #2299 will depart Miami daily at 10:50 a.m., arriving in St. Kitts at 2:50 p.m. The return flight #2280 will depart St. Kitts at 3:45 p.m., arriving in Miami at 6:05 p.m.

American Airlines first started a Miami service to St. Kitts in December of 2004 with three flights weekly, which grew to five flights in 2006. American Airlines also commenced a twice-weekly service from JFK International Airport to St. Kitts in November of 2007. “Such a significant increase in nonstop service by American Airlines during a time of widespread route cuts by U.S carriers is a testament to the quality of St. Kitts’ tourism product,” said Senator Ricky Skerritt, minister of state in the ministry of tourism, sports and culture in a written release. “This sustained growth in airlift to St. Kitts is directly related to the economic development taking place in our country and the increasing demand for our tourism product. These daily Miami flights are ideally timed, for both connecting and local travelers to spend more time on-island without having to get to the airport too early or arrive home too late.”
